Integration of Informatics and Biology for Advanced Drug Development

Room 2
In this section, we introduce three speakers from Korea and consisted of topics on advanced drug development using artificial intelligence and machine learning, which are the critical core techniques of recent drug development. Dr. Geun-Woo Lee of Angel-I-Drug Design will introduce the overall methodology of using artificial intelligence techniques for drug design under the theme of “In silico drug design: Overview and application”. Dr. Jeong-ah Kim of the Korea Basic Science Institute will introduce the application of artificial intelligence for musculoskeletal drug evaluation based on a recently published paper on the topic of “from biomimetic bone-on-a-chip to artificial intelligence: powerful tools for drug testing”. Lastly, Professor Dong-ryeol Ryu of Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology will take time to introduce the machine learning-based drug development method, focusing on the experience of using it in the actual drug development process, on the topic of “Sharing a wet lab biologist' experience with machine learning-based research”. Through this session, we hope that artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques, which have recently been attracting attention in the field of drug development, will provide an opportunity to directly experience the latest research methodologies and practical application cases for use in the musculoskeletal field.
