Symposium 6. The Current Research Updates on Bone Cell Biology E
Room 2
Symposium 6 invited 3 speakers from home and abroad who are about to publish their recent excellent research works in the bone cell biology. First speaker is Dr. Sung-Jin Kim, CEO of MedPacto and director of the Gillo Foundation Research Institute, who had been studying TGF-beta signaling for a long time as a Senior Investigator at the NIH National Cancer Institute in the US. After returning to Korea, he successfully founded MedPacto company and is currently the head of the GILO Foundation Research Institute. Recently, he has been actively working on the bone metabolism, and he will introduce a therapeutic targeting the novel gene involved in osteoclast fusion he has discovered. The second speaker is Professor Masayuki Tsukasaki from Tokyo Medical University, Japan. He is currently working on various projects in the laboratory of Professor Hiroshi Takayanagi, who opened the field of osteoimmunology. Based on recent data from Professor Hiroshi Takayanagi's laboratory, he will tell us new Insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying bone remodeling. Last speaker is Dr. Dongwook Yang, who graduated from the College of Dentistry at Chonnam National University and is currently a post doc in the laboratory of Professor Dongsu Park at Baylor Medical University, USA. He will talk about the recent discovery of a new stem cell involved in tendon regeneration, which is about to be published. We expect that this session will serve as an opportunity to meet the latest research works of high-level domestic and foreign researchers in advance.

Symposium 8. Tendon and Cartilage E
Room 2
The Symposium 8 was organized to introduce recent interesting results on tendon and cartilage with three leading researchers. Professor Jin-Hong Kim from Department of Biological Sciences, Seoul National University will present a novel strategy of Disease Modifying Therapy (DMT) for tendinopathy. Professor Siyoung Yang from department of Biological Science, Sungkyunkwan University will share the recent findings on the therapeutic mechanism of arthritis. Lastly, professor Yoosik Kim form Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) will introduce mitochondrial RNAs as an emerging developmental factor of osteoarthritis. We hope the audiences will enjoy the high-quality research on tendon and cartilage.
